Hello, Pint Lovers!
In a world where the cost of living keeps climbing, it can feel like even the price of a pint is slipping out of reach. Belfast has went from being the 10th most expensive city in the UK for a pint in 2019, to the 3rd most expensive today. Ireland is the 4th most expensive country for alcohol in the EU. That's why I've made Pint Tracker, to keep track of prices and making it publicly available to shine a light on prices and how they're changing in Ireland.
I'm on a mission to bring you the most accurate and up-to-date pint prices but it's going to require your help to get as much coverage as possible.
I've done my best to gather data from as many bars as possible. If you notice a bar missing from the list, don't worry! You can submit a bar and help the Pint Tracker community. I'm committed to updating the bar database weekly, but I'll aim to do it sooner.
If you want to see Pint Tracker expand to other cities, let me know by dropping an email to pints@pinttracker.com. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Submitting Prices
The pint price accuracy is essential, and that's why when you submit a pint price, I ask for some proof. This could be a photo of your receipt or a screenshot from your banking app. I realise this might be a bit of a hassle, but it really helps me ensure that the prices I share are accurate and it will help us track how prices change. Your small effort goes a long way in keeping our data reliable for everyone.
Why Guinness?
Guinness is everywhere. With Diageo, the parent company of Guinness, having a significant footprint in Irish towns and cities the widespread availability of Guinness makes it the perfect pint to track.
By tracking the price of a pint of Guinness I'm hoping we can provide broader insights into pricing trends across Irelands's bar scene. Where a bar doesn't serve Guinness I've opted to track the stout equivalent i.e. Beamish or Murphy's.
Supporting the Project
Running this site does take a bit of pocket change due to the services I use. If you've found Pint Tracker helpful and want to support the project, why not buy me a pint? Your generosity helps keep the taps flowing!
